Backup Files on S3 not detected when we rescan repository

We have backup files on NAS onpremise, then we have uploaded to S3. But when we rescan S3 repository, backup files not detected.

Veeam can only see this restore points when they were uploaded through the capacity tier feature in a SOBR. There are no backup files in S3. Just unique blocks of the restore points.
How do you have uploaded the backup files? Manually? Or in a SOBR with the capacity tier?

With object storage, there's no file system and so no concept of "files" in principle. As such, uploading existing backup files to object storage does nothing meaningful. Those few resulting extremely large blobs your manual copy process created is simply not how backups are stored in object storage.

Veeam backup files are only usable with file system based backup repository. This includes NAS, Windows and Linux servers, and some (not all) deduplicating storage appliances. With these repositories, you can freely copy backup files between them and rescan will pick them up.

The same can be done between object storage: you can copy your backup data (the entire bucket with its millions of objects) from one S3 object storage to another S3 object storage, and rescanning the target object storage will pick them up.

However, copying all those millions of objects to a regular file system or copying a few backup files to object storage both make no sense.
