Meh! backup repositories

Post by ThinkGrid »

Hi

Please tell me that I don't have to create a Backup Repository of every folder that I use to backup separate jobs

In V5 I just map to a shared folder, create let's say 5 folders for each of the 5 jobs and just point to each one of them when creating the job, all this took 1 minute

But in V6 it seems you have taken away this ability and now I have to create a Backup Repository for each of the folders, which is very time consuming and very inefficient

If that is the case, than that is just awful design, please clarify

Thanks
Petrit

v6 places backups from individual jobs in to subfolders within the repository. v5 used to just dump all backup jobs to the root of the designated location.

Ok, how does it name the subfolders, is it based on the name of the job ?

And does it create the folders automatically ?

Thanks

Glad to hear it. The only time you might create multiple repositories on the same server is if you had different volumes you wanted to store backups to ( for example removable drives or different SMB shares to a NAS or two )
