Restore backup on Server - Case 05640308

I am doing backup physical server - 2012 r2 -

job mode - server - managed by backup server
backup mode - entire computer
storage - default backup repository
guest processing - enable application-aware processing (even though no Exchange, oracle, sql installed)

I need to clean install server OS and use the backup on this server
can i move backup to external hdd afterwards or have to do it in backup job? failed before

best way to restore is using USB recovery? or reinstall veeam and restore it from backup job or external hdd

that's fine. That's independent from Veeam. After that was done, re-install the agent via Veeam Backup & Replication ("managed by backup server" again). Then start the data restore of the other volumes (I assume that there is no data on C:\ drive, where you plan to re-install Windows)

not directly. The backup format in a Veeam Backup & Replication repository (which you are using today) is incompatible with local disk (USB drive in your case).
