Veeam Azure Restore from snapshot fails

We have a backup job in Veaam that takes snapshots of all of the virtual machines. This process works very well however, when trying to restore a virtual machine from one of the snapshots, the process fails with the error:

9/27/2022 5:16:57 PM Error Restoring virtual machine {Virtual Machine name} from snapshot failed. Error: The client '{Client ID}' with object id '{Object ID}' has permission to perform action 'Microsoft.Compute/virtualMachines/write' on scope '/subscriptions/{SCOPE TO VM}'; however, it does not have permission to perform action 'read' on the linked scope(s) '/subscriptions/{SUBSCRIPTION ID}'

The user I am using to do this operation is an Owner of the subscription.

Can you verify that the permissions are correctly assigned as described in the user guide?

If they are, please continue working with support to analyze what may be wrong.
