airgapped mailslot

Post by lowlander »

Hi,

Is it possible to airgap the tapes in a mailsot in a library after an export ?

We don’t want the possibility within the Veeam console to import or move tapes into the library from the mailslot.

In that way we protect tapes to be (un)intended deleted or formatted from the console.

How can we accomplish this, and are there other solutions like WORM that can help ?

Hello,
so you ask to disable the "import" functionality? That's not possible today.

Removing the tapes physically from the mail slot would be a solution. Sure, you can also use WORM media.

Best regards,

Just don't forget that an attacker could still directly access the tape library if he/she gets access to the tapeserver.
