Hi
I consider using Veeam Backup & Replication on AWS EC2.
I am wondering which AWS storage service I should use as repository for Veeam.
I would like to use AWS storage as performance tier, so I believe I can not use S3.
If you have any recommended services or use cases, I would like to know.
Best Regards

Re: VBR repository on AWS
Hello,
it mainly depends on your size and performance requirements (and maybe budget ). If you use block cloning (XFS or REFS), then the IO requirements from Veeam are low. So you only need to check out, what performance you need for backup / restore (bandwidth, CPU, RAM).
Correct, today with V11, object storage (S3) can only be used as capacity tier. In V12, the software can write directly to object storage.
Best regards,
Hannes
