EC2 instance family using VBR on EC2

When we use VBR on AWS EC2, is there any recommended EC2 instance family ?
I usually use m5 family, which is general type, but the cost is a little high.
So I am considering to change to t3 family.

Hard to tell without knowing the specifics: the load backup server is dealing with, the types of roles it hosts, etc. So it might be worth testing the different sizes and closely monitoring backup server activity (seeing whether the particular family answers your production requirements). Thanks!
