VEEAM Backup Fails -- Failed to open VDDK disk

Hi Team,

Looking for your valid inputs on this VEEAM backup error,
“Error: Failed to open VDDK disk” ( is read-only mode - [true] ) Failed to open virtual disk.

Transports: [nbd];Read Only: [true]] failed because of the following errors: Failed to open disk for read. Failed to upload disk. Agent failed t

Please help me in getting fix this issue.

Hello,
I would recommend you opening a support ticket, because this problem can be many things, that seeing into the logs can be clarified. But we do not do that over the forums.

Please create a ticket and share ID here if you like.

A few common things to check:
1.- The account your are using to connect to vCenter has all the required privileges, and extend to child, etc.
2.- The Proxy you are using is inside the VMware Cluster you are trying to backup, if want to use HotAdd. If NBD, the proxy should see all ESXi by IP and fqdn.

But as said, always better a support ticket, please.
