Bare metal restore = AD issues?

Hi Team,

If I'm backing up a domain joined physical computer and this computer dies and I perform a bare metal restore to a new piece of hardware will everything be business as usual, or am I going to run into AD issues like trust relationship due to SIDs or is the SID going to remain the same and no other action needed?

I'm wondering if I'll need to delete the computer account from AD prior to restoring the machine and readding to the domain?

yes.

Theoretical it could happen, that the machine account password was changed between backup and restore. I have not heard anyone running into issues, but in worst case, one could always leave / rejoin the domain.
