Question on simple veeam one report to show # of servers backed up

Post by nbdsv96 »

Hello, I am looking for a simple report to just show me how many and what servers are being backed up on each Veeam B&R server. We want to start to do auditing against out internal DB of servers in our environment.

Basically, what I want is to know for a one month time span I want to know all servers that were backed up within that month. That includes VM backed up servers and Windows/linux agent backed up servers and SAP and Oracle backed up servers in one report. From there I can take the server names from Veeam One excel and cross check from our internal data. I ran a agent backup report and its only showing me dates of the backup but no server names unless I click in the date then it goes to a new report showing the computer name which is not helpful.

Is this possible to just have one report of everything backed up under one B&R that includes the server names?

Thanks

Hello,
Have you gave a try to the Workload Protection History Report? It is one of the most comprehensive ones, with tons of options and easy to export to an XLS to finish fine tune to your needs if required.

Please give it a try, as it has so many columns you can add, or remove. I think that will give you what you need, but please let us know if not.

Thank you!

Hello Jorge,

I am actually running that right now. I'm running it for a month back on our Veeam One server that has about 7 B&R servers and it's taking a while to run. It's already timed out once on me and logged me out. I may have to run it for two shorter durations or maybe open a ticket to get the timeout window extended. I had a similar issue with running a large report at my previous company.

Hello Dean,

You may probably run the report per one backup server or make the duration shorter, as a workaround.

The Workload Protection History evaluates the backup sessions, and the load depends on their amount. If 7 backup servers for 30 days did a lot of backups that could be the reason for the long generation time. As far as I know, the max timeout is 1 hour. Did you reach one hour?

Please create a support case and share the case ID in this thread as Jorge mentioned above.

Thanks
