Understanding GFS Backup

The backup jobs are structured like this:
Backup to Disk, Retension Policy 14 days and as Secondary Target to Backup to Tape.
GFS is activated Daily14, Weekly to 4 Weeks, Monthly 12.

How do the backed up files look like on the tape? Is the Daily backup stored as vib on the tape and the weekly as vbk? What is the Veeam ABR11 consideration?
Or are the files stored on the tape vib's and vbk's depending on the retention number, i.e. if this is reached (14) then the vbk is generated and written to tape.
