Services to monitor on Veeam and Veeam proxy?

Post by derine1070 »

Hello

I wanted to ask what services (or anything else) should be monitored on Veeam and Veeam proxy. I ask this because I wish to monitor it on Nagios and want to know which are critical.

Thank you

Hi Derine and Welcome to Veeam R&D Forums!

Basically, it depends on the features that you're using but I suggest monitoring all Veeam services that are running on Veeam B&R and proxy servers to avoid issues and ensure stable functioning of the product.

Thanks!

Don't forget the SQL Server service as well if your using a simple deployment.

Not specific for Nagios (Core?), however I wanted to also highlight VeeamONE allows to do that and some more.
In addition to all of the alarms and reports provided out-of-the-box in VeeamONE, you have the capability to create custom alarms for the monitored assets.

For example, you can leverage VeeamONE Custom Alarms to trigger an alarm and notification based on the event or task selected.

Combined with the existent alarms and functionality like Heatmaps, it provides a comprehensive view of the state of the environment(s).

You can monitor all Windows services, if not running if there's on automatic. There is obviously a problem on your server.
