Adding new licenses to a Veeam environment - end of support?

Hi,

We have just purchased some additional Veeam licenses. We now want to add them to our existing environment. When we start the process we get a message:-

"Please note the the merged license will have a support expiration that matches the earliest support expiration date of the individual licenses that were part of the merge".

Surely this cannot be correct? Our current license support expires in 2026,but the new license support expires in 2024 so we will lose support on the existing licenses?

Is this correct?

Yes, that's correct. When you merge licenses, the earliest support expiration date is the one which is valid for the merged license.
If you want to use the merged license until 2026 you need to align your "new" license to the same support expiration date as the existing one.
But the old license keeps is support expiration date from 2026 if you unmerge it from the new one.

I recommend to contact your reseller/Veeam sales representative and tell them that the new license must have the same support period as the existing license.

Thank you for your reply. Please can you clarify for me then when we renew our support for the new licenses in 2024, we do not have to renew the support for the licenses with their support expiring in 2026, and we can align the renewal dates?
