How to delete backups from Veeam

Hi,
Our repository was getting really full up, so I deleted the backup files from the repository. I cannot remember how to get rid of the link from Veeam, however I do know there is a way to do it, as I've done it before. Does anyone know about this?

Hi Jack

You shouldn't delete backups manually from the file system. When you have issues with your free storage, adjust your retention settings of a backup job and let it clean up restore points outside of the retention.

If you manually delete backups from the file system, you must rescan your repositories and remove missing backup files from the configuration:
1. Rescanning Backup Repositories
2. Removing Missing Restore Points

I've rescanned a couple times but not getting the option to forget or delete?

Have you opened the properties of your backups after the rescan? The forget option is provided inside the backup properties for the missing backup files.


If you have done that, but you still cannot see the missing backup files, please open a support case and provide me with the case number.
