Direct Object Storage in Standard Edition

Post by obroni »

I've looked through the license edition comparison and it seems to suggest that direct backup to object storage is a Enterprise edition and up feature.

I have a Veeam B&R server with a standard edition rental license (we are a SP), I have successfully added an object storage repository and backed a VM up to it.

Can somebody confirm if this is intended behavior, or has something slipped through the cracks and this will be removed in a future patch?

Asking now before I commit and dig myself into a hole.

Hi Nick

That sounds like a bug.
Only Enterprise, Enterprise+ and VUL can use object storage as a backup target for their jobs.
Could you please open a support case with your debug logs, so we can have a look at this situation?

Thank you very much,

It's a bug specific to Rental license type, will be fixed.
