Backblaze-File and Folder names
I'm testing Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage. I just completed a job to move to the capacity tier. Why are the file and folder names encrypted? I don't have encryption on. I tried downloading a file using Backblaze's website but the file is still encrypted.
What did I miss?

Re: Backblaze-File and Folder names
Hi Scott
Veeam doesn‘t upload backup files (vbk, vib). And it‘s not encryption you can see.
We split the backup files in small unique data blocks and upload them as objects to the object storage. This objects are stored in those folders.
A Veeam Backup & Replication (VBR) will be able to read the metadata on the object storage. Metadata provides all the information for the VBR server to put together the required restore point from this objects in those folders.
The folder structure is explained here:

Best,
Fabian

Re: Backblaze-File and Folder names
I get it now. How do I test a restore? I'm in the restore area and don't see specifically to restore from Backblaze or Capacity Tier. Do I move it or something?
Thank you
Thank you

Re: Backblaze-File and Folder names
When you start the restore from backups > object storage (v11a) or backups > capacity tier (v12), we will restore it directly from object storage.

Fabian

I don't have any of these options thought. No right click move to performance tier.

Re: Backblaze-File and Folder names
You can only download those backups, if you moved them to the capacity tier.
If they still exist on the performance tier, download is not available.
You can start instant recovery from the capacity tier to test your VM. Or a FLR restore.
Best,
Fabian
