email notification enhancement

Post by chum »

I notice that you can enable email notification for each job and you can enable notifications globally for all jobs. However I can't see a way where you can disable notifications for each individual job.

Please can you have a couple of check boxes for each job:

Disable all email notifications for this job.
Disable email notifications only on successful completion of job

By having the above two check boxes in the notifcations settings in each job, I can globally set the email notifcations, and then selectively disable notifcations for any jobs that run continuosly.

I have a number of backup jobs and I also want to have replication jobs that runs continuously, but I don't want continuous emails every time these jobs complete successfully.

Cheers

Craig, thank you for the feedback. Some better notifications granularity would definitely be handy.

Would like to see check box for e-mail notification that job has started. We have link jobs and would like audit trail and assurance that the job is actually starting after previous job has completed.

Thanks

E-Mail notification on continous replication

Post by VenoX »

[merged]

Hi!

Currently i am evaluating veeam, it seems to be a gread product.

But i ran into 1 annoying issue:
I enabled continous replication between 2 esx hosts whicht runs fine, but veeam sends me a notification mail after every synch which fills up my inbox :)

what´s the correct way to disable this behaviour?

regards

After some runs of the same backup, when you are sure they run correctly, you can skip email notification for successful backups, and leave only warning and error notifications.

I would love to see the Failed, Warning, Success check boxes per job. Instead of just global.

For Example:

I would like to see all three on a backup job but on a continuous replication job I only want warning and failure.

Yeah, me too. Highlight this for a feature request. For now we can do this workaround only ;)

I'd add my vote to this thread: Veeam product managers/developers/designers/engineers, please enhance the email notifications functionality. And before Veeam version 7, please. The enhanced functionality and granularity that we're asking for seems simple enough, yet it's often the simple things that make for well-designed software...
