changing a backup job from specific VMs to use VM Tags

Hello!

At implementation time we added VMs to jobs explicitly by name.

Over the first 18m of use we've found that some in the team have created VMs and they've not been added to a job in VBR. I can get round this by tagging each VM in vcenter with a tag which a VBR job looks for, but I don't want VBR to start new backup chains.

If I tag the VMs, remove the VMs from the job and reconfigure existing job[s] with the tags, the chains should be maintained shouldn't they?

Yes. Backup Chain continues if the same VM is now added by Tags.
