Delete Backup Disk (Imported)

Post by pronto »

Servus Community,

at first sight I know the background of the entries in Home - Backups - Disks (Imported), but I have to ask again explicitly if they can be deleted and especially where they are deleted?

I have already once accidentally deleted half the infrastructure because we made the mistake of moving virtual machines to another host with a migration and did not complete this migration with a failover and permanent failover. When we then deleted replicas that had supposedly become obsolete, we deleted the production VMs. We were not aware that Veeam was able to perform such destructive actions on the hosts. This fear to make such a mistake again is deep...

This is what it looks like in Veeam at the moment and these two servers are mail servers and I would still need them. Can this be deleted safely?

Thx & Bye Tom

Hi Tom

Deleting backup files won't delete production VMs.

Backups Files with a red X are no longer available in your backup repository. If you no longer have them, you can remove them from the configuration: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120

You cannot delete individual backups in this menu for the restore points that still exist. You can only delete all backups for the entire computer:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
