It's mandatory to create a VM on the azure if we want to backup azure VM?

Hi Handian
You have two options:
- Use Veeam Agent to backup those Cloud VMs --> No additional VM required on Azure
- Use Veeam Backup for Azure to backup those VMs. --> VM and Azure Blob Storage required on Azure
With Veeam Agent, you will have to pay for the outgoing data transfer (egress costs). Each Backup will download data from Azure to your VBR server. I recommend to try out Veeam Backup for Azure and to do a cost comparison (Azure Costs).
