Possibility of rolling back upgrade using snapshot

Post by DanielJ »

We have our whole VB365 environment on vms, except for the S3 storage. Does the v7.0 upgrade process touch anything on the S3 side? If not, I guess it should be safe to revert the vm snapshots in case of a botched upgrade. Is this correct, or would that risk leaving us with unreadable backups?

Hi Daniel

To complete the upgrade to v7, you must upgrade your repository. The protected data inside the repository will be updated for VB365 v7.

If you roll back your VB365 server to v6, VB365 won't be able to use upgraded repositories.

I have read that, and hoped that it would only change the metadata located on proxy servers. Well, thanks anyway.

You're welcome.
Proxy and Repository upgrades is a two step process:

Upgrading Backup Proxy Servers
Upgrading Backup Repositories
