Non-Graphical Widgets

Post by Aremac »

Is it possible to make custom non graphical widgets (like the pre-defined over utilized storage widget) that displays a short table as opposed to a graph or chart? I have reports that show VM's with DVD connected and VMs with Snapshot. I'd like to show them on the dashboard as a 'top-5' type table as opposed to pie chart or bar graph.

Thanks.

Hi Sam,

Yes, that's possible. Please find all available chart options in widget settings -> chart type.

Hope this helps!

The only chrt type I see in the Edit Dashboard Widget is Stacked column, exploded Pie, Clustered Column, 3-d Cylinder and 3-d Column

Looks like this report does not have table as available chart option.

Btw, could you please tell me what widgets you're trying to create? We have lots of predefined performance and VI configuration widgets coming in v6.

The one I was working on in this instance is a report that show me which VM's has a snapshot with some criteria set for excluding lab vms. It is based off the base report pack on the virtual machine object.

I have the report working and a widget that shows a bar graph but I just want the list not a graphical rep of the size of the VM's (which It has)

Thanks
