Saving restore logs Error: Error in the application

Hi

When I restored from Recovery Media, I got bellow error message.
- Saving restore logs Erro: Error in the application

My condition is as follows;
- VBR is on AWS EC2 (ver12)
- Backup target server is Windows Server on on-premises
- Backup is Managed by Agent
- Backup data is stored in EBS attached to VBR

Question:
- What is the effect of this error ? I think restore itself is success.

Case number is Case #05979470

Hi Keita

I cannot tell you if your restore was successful without having access to your environment. But from the screenshot it looks like the restore itself completed successfully. Have you rebooted your machine?

For the error message, there must be some issue in storing the recovery logs after the bare metal restore. Remember, Bare Metal Recovery runs in the WinRE environment. We need to store the logs outside of this WinRE environment to be able to access them after the reboot to the host system.

Yes I rebooted my machine after restore and it looks like working well.

When I restore from recovery media, how to store restore log outside WinRE ?
Also I am wondering there was no error log on Veeam 11.
Only when I use Veeam 12, there is this error log.

Dunno, I did a quick test with physical machine restore (no AWS, recovery media PXE booted via WDS) and the logs got zipped to the repo from which the restore was done, file named appliance_log_DD-MM-YYYY_HH-MM-SS.zip

Hi

Thank you for your reply.
So I understood basically log file will be stored.
From my test result, when restoring from local NAS, succeeded to store restore log.
Only when restore from AWS EBS or Azure Managed Disk attached to Veeam Server, this error log was generated.

Do you know the root cause of this error log?

Guessing over the forum makes no sense.
If you see this issue on all restores from AWS EBS, our customer support should analyze it.

Sure, I understood.
I raised support ticket sometimes, but I could not get answer...because I use community edition support. ( #05979470 was also rejected)

Is there any way to get support even if I use community edition?
