Difference in AWS Free vs Paid?

Post by sandmanfvr »

I have been searching for this everywhere, so what is the main differences in the paid and free AWS version of Veeam? Maybe a dumb/simple question but if this has been asked already, can I be directed to the answer? Thank you!

I would say, the key difference is that Veeam can backup anywhere and restore said backup to anywhere.

AWS can only backup back to AWS (which is not compliant with the 3-2-1 backup rule as it prevents DR in case of AWS issues) and restore is also only back to AWS (complete vendor lock-in of your data).

The free version has certain limitations such as a maximum of 10 instances, and no EFS indexing support. The different licensing types are listed in our user guide.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.
