Immutable repository change retention

Its not possible to change the retention period of an immutable repository, are there any workarounds for this?
Imagine you have an immutable repository with snapshot based retention set for 30 days but after 1 month you decide you need the data longer, is it possible to disconnect the OS repository in Veeam to prevent the retention from being applied?
What would happen if you import this repository 6 months later will Veeam immeadiately start applying the retention policy or will it wait till the day that is specified in the advanced settings?

Yes, it's not possible. Unfortunately there is no workaround available. Console and PowerShell won't allow changing the retention. For now the only option I see is to start with a new repository.

Our repository cleaner process follows the schedule in <advanced settings>. It won't apply the retention immediately.
