svc.veeambackup.zip on the B&R Server

Post by Steve1978M »

Hi,

on my Veeam server i have a few files in C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup\2022-10-04_Svc.VeeamBackup.zip (and more with different dates). The largest single zip is 10Gb and there are others around 6, 5, 4Gb.

I am starting to run a bit low on disk space so I was wondering if these could be deleted. from a bit of googling these seem to be old log files that have been zipped up, is that correct? if so can these be safely removed?

Additionally i have a backup job which backs up the contents of a file server share every 15 minutes to a NAS drive. however I can see in the same program data folder I can see a folder named the same as my backup job, this folder is 26.6Gb and again just contains loads of log files. My file share is is probably not much bigger that 26Gb!

Can this be optimized anyway?

Hi Steven

Yes, those log archives can be safely deleted.
We have some registry keys to control log file generation:
https://www.veeam.com/kb1825

Please note, those log files may be required by our customer support.
Don't lower the settings in a way that you don't have usable logs.
Please also consider to extend your disk where the logs are stored.

Best,
