Hardened Appliance

Hi,

We've been investigating using the Veeam Backup for Azure in our environment to replace Azure native backup but have so far not been able to deploy the appliance in our Azure tenant as it's a generation 1 vm and we are unable to deploy a software package on our own hardened OS.

Is there anything in the pipeline to allow security features such as trusted launch to function on the Veeam Backup for Azure, or the option of deploying a software package on an existing machine?

Hi Lauren,

There are no plans to allow deploying it as a package, but we are looking into providing the gen2 image. The trick we are trying to resolve now is how to do that upgrade from gen1 to gen2.
