File to tape not backing up everything
Hi,
We have a file to tape backup job where we are backing up a file share containing about 14TB of data.
The problem is that the job completes successfully but with only 760GB of data being backed up.
I am a bit lost here, any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: File to tape not backing up everything
Hi Michel
I edited the picture link for you. Now it works
The difference is really large between total size and data read.
Were there any errors or warnings in the notification? When you open the share yourself, you can see those 14TB of data?
I suggest to let our support team have a look at the debug logs. The logs will tell us why only 760GB could be read by the tape job.
Best,
Fabian

Is it the incremental? I noticed different numbers on the jobs since v12.

Hi,
No, it`s a full backup.
Thoss are files located on a NAS in a shared directory called "Archives".
Thanks

Hi Michel
Please open a support case and let them check the logs.
If something was excluded, logs will tell us.

Re: File to tape not backing up everything
Found the issue.
We are backing up many TBs of data from many NAS devices to tapes, Veeam requires a licence for each additional 500MB to be backed up as I can understand.
Since we are an accounting company and need to do backups of many files on tape regularly the costs of it will be way over our budget.
We just bought Veeam for O365 as well but I don`t think we will ever deploy it.
Those limitations just makes no sense to us.
We will look for alternatives from now on.
Thanks
