Veeam M365 Backup License Exceeded Warning
Case #07003274
My Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is using 73 of 80 available licenses, but Veeam One is generating a "Licenses Exceeded" warning. Also under the Tasks & Events, there is a "Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 license capacity is running out" error generated every five minutes.
Would it be possible to be able to configure the check so that it warns at a specific level? Also it would be nice to have this split into two alarms - one for approaching capacity, and one for capacity reached/exceeded.
Thanks,
Keith

Re: Veeam M365 Backup License Exceeded Warning
Hello Keith,
This alarm is event-based and there is not much control over this process. As far as I know, the event is generated when 10% or less is left and the number is hard coded. I will double-check that with the developers and update this thread.
Thanks

Thanks for the info. It would be nice if that number could be optionally set to say 5% instead of a hard-coded number.

Re: Veeam M365 Backup License Exceeded Warning
Hello Keith,
The number 10% is confirmed. Unfortunately, no workaround was found.
I agree that a threshold value for this alarm would be more convenient.
Thanks for the feedback.

So, it's 7 years later and it would appear that you still can't define a threshold for this alarm... or have I missed something?
Is there a way to get an alert when the license has exceeded, but not get an alarm when the capacity is running out?

Re: Veeam M365 Backup License Exceeded Warning
Hello Blind Trevor,
Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 environments are supported since v12 which was released on February 14, 2023
As previously stated, the alert for "license exceeded" is based on an event and Veeam ONE cannot control the process of generating the events. If you would like to remove warnings, you may disable or remove alarm rules with the severity "Warning".
I agree that setting a fixed threshold for event generation can be inconvenient. Therefore, it's a great idea to consider this for product enhancements in the future.
Thanks for the feedback.
