Question about Log truncation for Replication

Post by dimaslan »

We have a customer with an on-premises Veeam BDR doing backups with App Aware for a few SQL and an Exchange server.
Recently, we started doing replication of VMs to an esxi on our cloud.
The question is, what are the correct settings for the replication jobs for the SQL and Exchange? Do we need to enable Application Aware but do Copy only?

Hello,
"need" depends on what the desired outcome is. If you like to have a consistent replica, then application aware needs to be enabled and "copy only" is correct, yes.

In general, application aware processing is recommended, especially for the applications you mention, yes

Best regards,
Hannes
