Linux Hardened Repository - Immutability

Hi Guys,

My understanding is, for a chain to be marked ready for immutability, it needs to be in an in-active chain. So a Forward Incremental backup chain. This is due to files in active chain needing to be modified etc.

Does this mean only inactive chains are immutable and latest 7 days for example are not? I'm trying to think what part of the active chain needs to be 'modified'. No merge operations as not forever forward?

Or am I thinking wrong and the entire chain in this instance can be immutable?

Hello, actually your understanding is incorrect - there's no requirement for a chain to be inactive, before it can be made immutable. Thanks!
