Hi folks,
We are using Veeam tapebackup for about a week now.

VM Backup Jobs to disc
Our VM-Backup to disc jobs are running from monday to friday 6:30pm.
Backupmode is incremental and
create synthetic full backups periodically on saturday.

Backup jobs to tape
We configured our tape backups to backup all (to disc) Backupjobs to tape, using a standardmediapool.
At the moment we set fullbackups to tuesday and do incrementals the rest of the weekdays.
The tape backup always starts after the last backup to disc job is done.

As we recognized, Veeam does also start a backup to tape job on saturday. The strange thing about it is, that on saturday there is no VM-Backup to disc job running. So the question is, why is Veeam starting a tape backup on this day?

Might it be that the "create synthetic full backup" setting (set to saturday) of the VM-Backup to disc is interfering here?

Hi @mcdaniels,

Did you set job chaining or a periodic schedule? Maybe can you show a screenshot of your schedule configuration?

Basically, if you don't want the tape job to run on weekends, you should configure the schedule option here: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120

And simply use the "Daily at this time" field, and click the "Days" button and select the days you want the tape job to run.

Hi,

This is the setting of the backupjob to disc which has to be finished, before the tapejob starts. As you can see it only runs on weekdays. So the tapejob gets triggered by jobchaining. But the job itself (in the following screenshot) is NOT running on saturday.
