What does "processing" do?

Post by GabesVirtualWorld »

Hi

I'm replicating VMs between two sites over 10Mbit connection. Some VMs go quite fast but especially some large file servers seem to take a lot of time in the processing fase.

For example this file server:
2 vCPU / 4 GB RAM / 6 harddisks ( 4 VMDKs 12GB - 700GB - 5GB - 250GB / 2 RDMs 550GB - 400GB in virtual mode).

Job start at 9:16
Building VM list 1m42
VMsize: 1.9TB / 970GB used
CBT is enabled
Preparing next VM for processing
Using source / target proxy
Discovering replica
Preparing replica 14 minutes !!!
Processing configuration: 22 minutes (and still running as I post this).

What is it doing at this moment?

Needs to research the debug log to see what it is doing.

Can you give an idea if it is vCenter on source or target site that could cause the delay?

Guessing is a total waste of time here. You need to open a support case have them tell the reason for sure.
