Veeam Agent uses wrong network interface

Post by hyvokar »

Hi,

To separate backup traffic from other traffic from my PC I added a second nic to my PC.
nic1: 192.168.10.10/24 <- PC home network
nic2: 192.168.20.10/24 <- PC Backup network (no gateway defined)

I also have two nics on my backup server
nic1: 192.168.10.11/24 <- backup server home network
nic2: 192.168.20.11/24 <- backup server backup network (no gateway defined)

Backup job on my PC is configured to target backup server at address 192.168.20.11.
When running a backup job, for some reason the traffic still uses nics at 192.168.10.0/24 network.

It's like backup server would advertise the wrong IP address. Is there a way to force Veeam Agent for Windows to use specific interface?

Is your Veeam Agent managed by VB&R server? (I think it is, based on the fact that it apparently tries to resolve its hostname...)

If so, you can specify Preferred Networks.
