Restore Portal and changing scope

Post by michael.garcia »

Veeam Support Case #05695621
Running 6.1.0.254. Modern Authentication ONLY.

When a user logs in to the Restore Portal they can see their own backup data ( as expected )
This user is a member of the Restore Operator Role group and should be able to change scope to any object within the organization in the Restore Portal.
However when they select change scope, the UI loading symbol starts to spin, then a few seconds later, disappears and no data is displayed in the UI.
User sees no organization objects and so they can't change scope.

If however, I limit the scope of the user ( i.e. remove 'entire organization' and limit the scope to only a few ojects in the Restore Operator Role group) the user can see these other objects and can change scope as those users, i.e. data is populated fine in the UI.

Seems like the UI is not capable of loading objects for the entire organization, to allow the user to change scope.
Anyone experienced/seen this before?

Hey Michael,

First: Welcome to the forums
Second: I assume that there is a performance issue and that the query to load all the objects of the entire organization either gives a time out or it really takes too long. I noticed that you have a case running so please keep us informed on what our engineers find.

Thanks
Mike

Thought I'd update this thread.
Ticket has been escalated within Veeam support. Currently under investigation.

Forgot to update this ( it may hep someone ).
The issue was a proxy was restricting traffic at the customer end and not allowing the portal to retrieve the data.

Although quite some time after the fact, I am still glad to see that you updated the thread to help others. I do hope it didn't take that long to fix it though ;-) ;-)
