restore mail from veeam backup microsoft 365

Hello,

My customer has 1 server with VBR (virtual) and an other server with VBM365 (virtual).
He backup VBM365 server VM with VBR.

Is it possible to restore mail from VBR console directly and if yes how to ?

I try to go on disk -> restore item with Exchange online explorer but I have an error while loading database.

I would like to know if this is expected result or if I have to open support ticket.

Hi Matteu

Yes, it's supported.
You need to protect your VB365 server with an agent or vm backup job. Make sure that you have enabled application aware processing. Please open a case with our customer support team let me know the case number if you see an error when trying to open or restore content.

Something you can check before doing the restore. Make sure that the operating system on the machine where you start the restore has a higher windows build than your VB365 proxy server. If that windows runs an earlier version, the jet database in the backup cannot be mounted.
