Is the agent supported on this OS? Can't really find this info anywhere.

Standalone agent is not supported. However, Veeam Backup & Replication can protect such servers with its agent-based backup jobs of "managed by server" type. This uses a "naked" agent (without UI or own configuration database) which makes it compatible with Server Core.
