License question...

Post by deebsr »

It is said that the recommended practice is to add the virtual center server to Veeam and make use of the folders to organize the VMs for backup & replication.
In my Virtual Center I have about 11 hosts ( spread across multiple site ) but I only want to backup 2 of them. Will I need licenses for the other hosts in order to utilize Virtual Center?

Hello Shaun - no, you will not need licenses for other 9 hosts, even though you will see those hosts in UI after you add your vCenter to Veeam Backup. Just make sure that your backup/replication jobs are configured to process VMs located on those 2 hosts only.
