Replicating to a restore server

Post by asin@puleng.co.za »

Hi

I have successfully restored a production VMware server to the DR site, now I need to replicate the changes that happened on production to the DR server. After configuring replication at production and starting it I get an error say that the server already exists and the replication fails. I have not changed anything on the DR server after restoring it. Do I need to do futher configuration to get the production server successfully replication to the DR server?

Have you mapped the replication job to your restored VM in the DR site?

Besides doing the basic replication configuration I have not done anything else. By mapping do I have to go into the Advanced settings?

You need to select the 'Low connection bandwidth' check box at the first step of the replication job wizard to enable the 'Seeding' step. At this step map the job to the existing VM.

So this will only repiclate the differences between the production server and the dr restored server?
