Feature Request Remote Connection - Plug-in for Microsoft SQL Server

Hello,

we installed the Plug in for SQL, but noticed the follwing:
Veeam Plug-ins for Enterprise Applications Guide says: Remote connections from Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio are not supported.

On our SQL servers, no Management studio is installed. We manage the systems from a central management server. It would be far to much overhead to install and update the management studio on every sql server in our environment. This is why I wanted to ask if the Remote Management will be available in future generations of the Plug In?

We are considering support for remote SQL management studio in a future version.
But no information about ETA or target version we can provide yet.

@Mildur - another vote for the remote connection feature request. We use a remote desktop utility system for system administration (also one of Veeam's recommended best practices!!) that has the SSMS installed amongst other management tools rather than remoting into the SQL servers directly for day-to-day administration.

Would an option for central management directly in the Veeam B&R console solve the problem in your case?

No, I don't think so. Our DBAs would prefer to manage their backups as closely as possible to the native MSSQL backup functionality within SQL Server Management Studio. Ideally, they would be able to launch SSMS on their RDP management server and centrally manage the Veeam MSSQL plugin instances from there.

I understand the need for this, moreover, I've seen at least a couple of similar requests already. It's difficult to comment on timelines at this point, but the request has been noted.
