Move of backups files from Veeam plug-in for Oracle RMAN to other backup repository
Hello, team!
Our partner needs to move backups made using the Oracle RMAN plugin to another backup repository. According to the Backup Move documentation, using this functionality for general plugins, including the Oracle RMAN plugin, is not supported.
“You cannot move backups created by Veeam plug-ins for Enterprise applications, Veeam Cloud Plug-ins (Veeam Backup for AWS, Veeam Backup for Google Cloud, Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure), Veeam Backup for Nutanix AHV, Veeam Backup for RHV and Kasten K10"
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
What other options would be to carry out this move to another backup repository without compromising the backup files or the customer's environment?
Can KB 1729 can be used in this scenario (Method A: Same Job, New Backup location)?

Best Regards,

Re: Move of backups files from Veeam plug-in for Oracle RMAN to other backup repository
Hi Luiz,
Here is the workflow:
1. Make sure there are no RMAN jobs running
2. Remove an original backup from configuration (select "Remove from configuration", not "Delete from Disk"!)
3. Follow this instruction
Please inform me about the result.
Thanks!

Hello,
This message on the plug-in side indicates that the server has been added to a Protection Group and that backups are managed by the backup server, most likely, you’re using centralized plug-in management. What exactly are you trying to do when you see this message?
Thanks!

Moving the RMAN backups between repos (trying your instructions from post498797.html#p498797)
However they do not seem to apply here since you cannot execute those commands on the client. Is there a different procedure when plugins are centrally managed?
