v12 Use older IOFilter after upgrade?
Hello all;
v12 veeam, just upgraded to the July rollup, but it's requesting (obviously) to upgrade the iofilter, which will require a maintenance mode. This cluster is already tight, and I'm waiting for the new cluster to be turned up to move some load over to it.
2 questions:
1. Would it be possible to leave the current iofilter in place for a short time and still run cdp?
2. Are there any gotcha's to doing so (other than obviously not the preferred goal)?

It's possible to leave the I/O filter in its current state. The configured policies (along with disaster recovery actions) would work fine, but you wouldn't be able to create new ones until you update the I/O filter. Thanks!

Thank you very much! I'll give it a go. Shouldn't be long until I can upgrade the filters, I've got an outage coming up.
Thanks again;
William

Oh well, the dream lasted about 2 minutes. "IO filter running on host XXXX is outdated, failed to enable CDP."
Looks like they built in some prevention.
Thanks anyway,
William

Looks strange, at least to the actual R&D folks behind this functionality. They will try to reproduce the issue in their test environment. Will let you know about the outcome. Thanks!

The R&D team has confirmed your findings and apologizes for providing misleading information. Sorry again for the confusion caused.

No worries, it's actually a logical pathway, to reduce possible future issues. I am not disappointed in the least. Please pass along my good wishes to them.
