Question regarding Application consistent snapshots ...

Hi everybody,

I noticed that Nutanix backups in Veeam B&R v12 with AHV Plugin 12.5.0.465 report 'Application consistent snapshot was created' in the Action window, allthough the VM is powered off and there exists no Protection Domain for the VM as well.

Has Veeam improved the backup of Nutanix VMs with the help of a proprietary interface like AAIP in VMware?

Hello,

There were no changes around snapshots in 5.0. The backup app always sends request to create an application consistent snapshot and then just reports what Nutanix created.

Snapshots of powered off machines are always "application consistent" on Nutanix (I believe, since the application is shut down and no VSS is needed, it makes sense to call it so).
