No such host is known

Case #06352065

Hi, actually I just wanted to do a test recovery of a Windows VM (single ESXi 7.03 with local SAS storage). But since the transfer via NBD was much too slow, I installed a Windows 10 VM on the ESXi and installed the VMware Backup Proxy there (hotadd). Since I did that, I get the following error message when trying to restore as well as backup:

Processing vmname Error: Failed to resolve name: name-of-backup-server. Error: No such host is known.

I can backup to the backup repository of another site without any problems.

Thanks!

Check your DNS resolution on your proxy server.

The Windows proxy can resolve the DNS name of the Veeam Backup Server!
