Failback switching timing

Post by tan »

Hello,

I understand that failback switches from the first phase to the second phase.
I would like to organize the timing of switching to the second phase.
If I select one of the following in "Failback Mode step", is my understanding correct about when to switch to the second phase?

Auto: I don't know when the timing will be
Scheduled: Switch at the set time
Manual: Switch by manually selecting “Switch to production”

Thanks,

Hi Tan

Yes, seems right.
Auto will switch immediately after the the first phase is done successfully. It depends on how many data was changed while the replica VM was active. Can be just a few minutes, can be longer time.

With Scheduled you can choose a time when no one needs the machine. Could be at the weekends or at night time. This depends on your business.

And Manual lets you do the switch over manually when you think the machine is ready to be failbacked:
