Template backup and synthetic full behaviour

Hi,

I have a backup job, with the "Backup VM templates" and "Exclude templates from incremental backup" selected.
The job runs as a forward incremental, with synthetic full on saturday. No active full's
Retention policy is 45 days.

How many restore points should i expect for the template ?

For each templates you will see 6-7 restore points.
Do you see more?

Hi Fabian,

No, i only see 1 restorepoint, the orignal one from the first full backup.
It doesn't create an incr on the day of the synthetic full, and it seems like it wont create a new full, if there is only full backups.

I think i will create a test job, run it, and then open a support case.
