Workload Protection History Report Issue

Post by rajeshbind »

When printing workload protection history, the report is generated but there is a problem with printing. After the report is printed on A4 size paper we are unable to read its content but on A3 or A2 size paper we are able to read it. We also observe some extra margin coming in the backup report if this margin is corrected/removed then we are able to read the print on A4 paper. Veeam Support - Case # 07009330

This report provides detailed historical information on the protection state of individual workloads. Workload Protection History.

Hello Rajesh,

For the current version, this is a known behavior for the Workload Protection History report. We understand that it could be a bit inconvenient and planning to review our report generation in general for future versions.
Currently, if you want to modify the printing page Excel is the only workaround.

Thank you for the feedback

Reports are used for compliance purposes. If anyone changes the content in excel and prints, then it's a data integrity issue.

Hello Rajesh,

Could you tell me more about your use case because PDF files are also possible to change before printing.

Thanks

If for any reason any back support fails and I generate an excel report and modify the failed to success, it is a data integrity issue.
Also, Excel and Word reports have the same problem as PDF, extra margins are given in this report, if you remove the extra margins the problem will be solved.

Note: For PDF change required editable software is not directly editable. but excel or word are most of 99.9% users are using.

Hello Rajesh,

Thanks for the explanation. I also checked the support case you have mentioned and there is one more question. I noticed that you are using a limited number of columns while the report allows many more.

Is there any chance you could add more columns in the future? Having that, there is a big chance that additional columns would be transferred to another page while printing A4, for example. Would it be still convenient?

Thanks

We would be pleased if you could remove the extra margin from the report. We don't need any other changes.

Hello Rajesh,

Got it. I will discuss with the team how we could improve this use case in the future.
No promises or ETA so far.

Thank you for the feedback
