Can I disable QuickBackup for Portal Users?

Post by real_tarantoga »

Hello,
I'm using EM website as documentation portal for everybody to inform herself/himself about available restore points.
As no recovery can be triggered by portal users we found this is a good way to communicate transparently about good or bad backup status.

But I didn't realize that Portal Users can trigger QuickBackups - is there any way to
- disable this feature for the Portal Users
- or to alternatively disable at all?

Thank You,
Stefan

Will it be acceptable if a user can quickly backup specific VMs only? Or are you willing to disable the functionality completely? Thanks!

Thank you, veremin!
I just tried out Your proposal, but it doesn't work for me, because I don't want all users to lose the view of all VMs, I will only deny them the Quick Backup option.
So, yes - I'm rather looking for an option to completely disable quick backup in EM website.

Or is it possible to build up a new "readonly" role?
