Type of Proxy

Post by jstajay »

Are there any guidelines regarding the types of Proxy (Windows-based or Linux) needs in the VBR environment?

Hi Fabian,

I want to know if there is any best practice for choosing an OS type ( Windows or Linux) for the Backup Proxy?

Hi Ajay

We don't have specific recommendations. If you have a small environment, you can use the backup server. The backup server has the proxy component installed.
If you need to scale out your proxy server, you can either go with windows or Linux. For example, If you go with Linux, you can save money on licenses.
