Check last VBR backup status from *INSIDE* a VM?

Hello,

is it possible, to retrieve from inside a VM the last backup information for a managed backup done by the VBR v12 server, or to "push" that information "into" the VM, so that it can be retrieved from inside the VM's operation system?

For agentless, API-driven backup we run our processing operations with the hypervisor directly and don't interact with the OS (the exception is if you're performing some sort of application aware processing). Either way we're not registering backup success or failure in any meaningful way in the guest OS. It's probably easier to pull the data from VBR with Powershell remoting.
